Admittance to the Orchestra

We are seeking musicians primarily from the Arab world, to provide the region with a hub for talent in classical music in Jordan. Please note that musicians are hired on a project basis and may not be invited back based on their level of preparation in the first rehearsal.

Full time musicians upon recommendation

New applicants who have a full-time job outside the world of music will need to audition to the section leaders and Director of Music, before being considered. Once accepted, they are likely to be required to audition per project or receive masterclasses. Musicians who are able to practice on a regular (daily) basis are particularly sought after.

ACO operates in a friendly, no pressure environment. We are seeking musicians who with the following qualities

Enjoyment of rehearsals and working towards a high-level musical goal.
Able to take constructive criticism from conductors and section leaders without personal grief.
High level of technical accomplishment – we prefer musicians who have received professional degrees from music conservatories so that automatic comfort with technical challenges do not disrupt their ability to listen and follow the conductor simultaneously.
